Our Lighthouse Garden - Transformation No 7

Day 14 Grouting is finished, the fountain bowl and new soil arrives

Today we made a plan for the replanting we'd like as the new soil has been laid. Nearly all the plants have been saved in containers or another part of the garden. Big bin bags and the old blue recycling boxes have been very useful for holding plants when moving them and replanting.

The black grouting for the patio was finished and will be set again for tomorrow.

The corten steel bowl arrived.

This is going to been turned into a small pool and fountain to be placed in front of our Greenman wood carving. The reservoir was prepared today.

Day 15 The Gateway & The Gravel

Today Seb made a bespoke gateway to fit in with our theme. The soil was covered in a liner and the limestone chippings arrived.

We've gone for a light colour with big chips - hopefully the local cats won't revenge themselves on it. We also realised that the other half of the garden had become a quagmire and so we've just put down gravel here as well for us to add pots and raised beds later - this will be a kitchen garden area.

Day 16 Replanting the sides & adding the Balustrades

Today Seb made and attached the balustrades to either end of the decking - to match the cross fence. We moved all the plants and made the big decisions on where to put what - size, colour, what flowers when and preference for shade or sun all had to be considered.

Day 17 - Fountain tested, fence retainers, and mostly finished

Lots of little jobs got sorted today. Retainers for the fences, the fountain was made from the bowl and tested. Looks lovely. We cannot thank Seb, Jamie & Ryan enough for the fantastic job they have done.  0% stress 100% happy customer. We totally recommend SW GroundWork Specialists.

Pictures say more than words can convey

They will be back to add the final flourishes soon -  The large lights and mirror did not arrive so all the electricals are still to be finished. The conduit can then be fitted, cemented in and connected. We need some more gravel for the kitchen garden.

A wonderful experience ending with a rainbow and Dave doing some extreme training.

There will be another blog once we get the lights and mirror in place.
We hope you have enjoyed our journey and maybe been inspired to create your own garden room.

Our next plan for the garden - some nice outdoor seating for the deck, removing the old summer house, creating a kitchen garden and a terrace with a barbecue area. 2022 fingers crossed.
